Here at CNHSC we are proud to have a volunteer team of 16 groomer operators and two full size groomers!  Because of this, we are able to keep up with conditions on our 70 plus miles of trails. We have worked very hard to get to where we are today.

 CNHSC Piston Bulley

"She Devil"

The Pisten Bully is the newest member of the team joining us in 2009.  She has definitely been a great addition! Having  T W O  full size machines allows us to keep CNHSC trails in top-notch shape!!  We are proud to show her off....even in some festive, local parades.

The Pisten Bully has a roomy and comfortable cab for two, air ride drivers seat, stereo, and a heater that allows our volunteers to groom in their t-shirts :-)

She is also equipped with a back up cam.  Not so much for backing up - but for the drivers to be able to view the drag without turning to look backwards.  This allows for control adjustments to the drag and cutting edges all while looking straight ahead.  This is an important aspect for Safety as well as Workers comp ~ no wait, no Workers comp.  ~ we are all VOLUNTEERS!!

CNHSC BR180BR-180

Our BR-180 by Bombardier has been a reliable member of our team for 10 years.  Wow, seems like just yesterday we took delivery!  Like the Pisten Bully, she too, is a wonderful team member allowing the sleds out there to enjoy nice, wide, smooth riding.

Just a couple years ago she got what every woman wants...

        New shoes!

The tracks were completely re-done, a very time consuming task loosening and re-fastening all those bolts that hold the cleats in place!!

For 2010-11 she got a fresh new coat of paint and new seat covers.  She's ready to get to work when the snow flies.

Drags & Brush Cutter

Behind both machines we pull Mogul Master Drags. ** NEW for 2010-11 ** we have purchased a new, bigger, Mogul Master Drag.  This baby is going to do a great job smoothing out the bumps!

 WAIT !

 SORRY!

Not many bumps to be found here in CNHSC Country!

Smoothing out the small imperfections may be a better way to put it.

The boys out playing with a new toy

The brush cutter you see to the right was added in 2009.  This allows us to easily trim back those branches and brush, better known as "face slappers".

Groomer Etiquette ~ They're much bigger than you!

Todays groomers are much more than a long track snowmobile pulling a drag. They are large pieces of heavy equipment that requires extensive training to operate and consume the entire width of the trail in most areas.

When you meet a groomer on the trail, please pull over, off the trail if possible, allowing the machine to pass by you. If you come up behind a groomer please be patient, the driver will pull over allowing you to pass when he/she approaches an area that is open enough to allow you to pass safely.

Freshly groomed trails are delicate ~ Believe it!  Please take care not to dig up the newly groomed/packed trail. The snow needs time to "set up" and harden which is one reason why the groomers are out at the wee hours of the night. Another reason is that it is often too warm during the day, there is more traffic, and all of our operators are volunteers and are working during the day.
